  • Boat departs from Cullen Bay Ferry Terminal Jetty
  • Full Day Bluewater Fishing (9 hours) – Departs at 7am & returns at 4pm – Meet at 6:45am
  • Seven Hour Bluewater Fishing (7 hours) – Departs at 7am & returns at 2pm – Meet at 6:45am
  • Half Day Darwin Harbour Fishing Charter (5 hours) – Morning Charter departs at 7am & returns at 12 noon – Meet at 6:45am Afternoon Charter departs at 12:30pm & returns at 5:30pm – Meet at 12:20pm
  • Departure times can vary depending on charter location & tides – we will advise by email when making your booking
  • We have a designated meeting point & time based on which location you would like to go fishing
  • You can travel to your fishing destination in our Dodge RAM – Licenced to carry a maximum of 4 passengers or you can follow us in your own vehicle to the boat ramp destination
  • Dundee Beach (boat ramp is located approximately 1½ hrs from Darwin) depart from Dundee Beach boat ramp normally at 7am & returns to boat ramp at 4pm (depending on tides)
  • Tiwi Islands (departs from Leaders Creek boat ramp, located approximately 1 hour from Darwin) depart from Leaders Creek boat ramp normally at 7am & returns to boat ramp at 4pm (depending on tides)
  • Barramundi Charters depart from designated meeting point, times & location dependant on which destination is fishing the best. Gerard will assist in determining where to go Barra fishing based on tide, weather conditions & the time of year
  • For Dundee Beach, Tiwi Islands & Barramundi Fishing Charters to our rivers & billabongs, we have a designated meeting point. Normally at Shell Coles Express, located on the corner of University & Elrundie Ave in Fairway Waters, Palmerston. You can drive, Taxi or Uber to meeting point & transfer into our registered tourist vehicle in our Dodge RAM with plenty of leg room & comfort. Licenced to carry a maximum of four passengers
  • Please travel light as we have limited storage space Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat & camera or phone to record your catch
  • Please bring your own food & snacks for half day & 7-hour charters
  • BYO is welcome in moderation – Cans only, no glass as it’s dangerous when broken on the boat deck
  • Sea/Travel sickness tablets if you suffer from sea sickness when fishing offshore (Kwells work well, available from Chemist)
  • Sun smart clothing – Long sleeved shirt, long light weight pants & socks, to protect you from sandflies & mosquitos
  • Insulated soft cooler bag to take your fish home with you (Coles or Woolies soft cooler bag is ideal)
  • If Barramundi fishing in Darwin harbour you should wear long light weight pants & socks due to the sand flies
  • Insect repellent – Sand flies are friendly in Darwin Harbour & at the boat ramps around Darwin
  • We have a very large Yeti esky for your drinks, food & fish
  • Bottled water (available on all fishing charters)
  • Lunch, snacks, fruit & cans of soft drinks supplied on full day charters only (not supplied on half day charters)
  • We supply bait, ice & all fishing tackle
  • Shimano fishing rods & reels are supplied on the basis that if you drop a rod overboard or break it, you’re responsible for the cost of replacement or repair
  • Fishing lures are provided on the basis that if you lose it, you’re responsible for the replacement cost
  • Our boat is a 7.5 metre Ocean Cylinder, centre console with new twin 150HP Honda motors & hard top canopy for shade
  • The advantage of a smaller faster vessel is that we get you to the fishing grounds faster & cover more fishing grounds than the bigger charter boats. Offering you a variety of fishing techniques like casting lures to tuna or mackerel, jig soft plastics or slices for reef fish & poppers for pelagic fish

  • Licenced to carry a maximum of seven passengers & 1 crew (we only take up to 6 clients fishing so less tangles than bigger charter boats)
  • Our boat & operation is fully insured & includes public liability insurance

  • Can operate up to 30 nautical miles offshore
  • All safety equipment carried & installed onboard is within survey

  • Gerard is your skipper & business owner that commenced Alure Fishing Charters NT in July 2021
  • Gerard has a Master V & MED 2 & can operate vessels up to 24 metres in length
  • Experienced maritime operator, Gerard was a captain/skipper with Sealink NT driving the Ferry to Mandorah & the Tiwi Islands for 4 years, Skippered boat for Arafura Bluewater Charters for 4 years, skipper with Dundee Beach Fishing Charters for six months prior to commencing his own business.

  • Approved Operator – Fishing Guide issued by Northern Territory Fisheries
  • Holds a Fishing Tour Operator Licence to operate in the Northern Territory

  • Our Licenced Tourist Vehicle – Dodge RAM provides comfortable transport for up to four passengers
  • Bluewater/Reef Fishing our two main target species out of Darwin are Golden Snapper & Black Jewfish. We also catch cod, Spanish Flag, Barred Javelin Fish & Indonesian Snapper as a by catch. We can also catch Trevally & Queen Fish or Mackerel & Tuna over our dry season (May to August)
  • Dundee Beach offers a large variety of fish species including Golden Snapper, Black Jewfish, Grassy Emperor, Red Emperor, Coral Trout, Cod, Tusk Fish (Bluebone) & yes, there’s plenty variety of sharks (Taxman) Also plenty of pelagic fish including variety of Mackerel, Trevally, Tuna & Queen Fish
  • We fillet or gill & gut your fish for you to take home but our fishing regulations require us to leave the skin/scales on for identification as we have “Fish Possession Limits & Boat Limits” that apply to certain species
  • There’s never any guarantees of the size or species of fish you catch

  • After we identify your fishing experience level & your preference based on the amount of time & budget you have, we will make recommendations on where to fish based on the time of the year, tides & where the fish are biting
  • Darwin Harbour normally only fishes well at certain times of the year and when you get a low tide of 2 metres or less
  • A Darwin Harbour Half Day Barramundi Fishing Charter allows you to learn how to barra fish if you’re inexperienced
  • Adelaide River (Full Day Barra Fishing) is one of our prettiest rivers & is less than an hour from Darwin. Gerard knows this river well & can guide you over the many rock bars & the areas you’re most likely to catch a barra. Influenced by tide, water temperature & our seasons (time of year) Gerard will recommend which days are more likely to produce results. You can call into Goat Island Lodge for a beverage at Casey’s Bar (the only freehold Island in the middle of a river in the Territory) meet Kai the owner & his wild crocodile Casey if she’s on the bank waiting for a feed.
  • Corroboree Billabong Full Day Barra Fishing Charter provides you with a true territory experience with lots of wildlife, crocs & picturesque scenes that will blow you away, catching a Barramundi is a bonus. You can also catch Saratoga, Tarpon & Catfish
  • Daly River – We only do trips to this river system during our Run-Off fishing (February to April) and is dependent on our wet season access (sometimes the road is cut due to water over road) & the height of the river
  • Shady Camp – We only do trips to these systems during our Run-Off fishing (February to May) & our Build Up Fishing months end of August to November
